On May 4, 2022 Prof. Mohanty presented at the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) conference on Electric Vehicles where he spoke on the panel "Bringing the Automotive, Plastics and Composites Industry Together to Drive Sustainable Vehicle Production". 

The 1st SPE Annual Plastics in Electric and Autonomous Vehicle (EAV) Conference was sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers Automotive Division, and it is the only conference of its kind to bring various plastic applications in Electric or Autonomous vehicles into one event. Electric and Autonomous Vehicles are new fields of transportation with many new sub-specialties. In the past couple of decades, there has been many technical conferences globally and locally focusing on one sub-specialties but missing many other areas of vehicle, thus this conference brought together 8 technical sessions with 72 presentations covering use of plastics in Electric and Autonomous Vehicles.
