My name is Andre Letona, and I am currently working towards my M.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Guelph. My advisory committee includes Dr. Alexander Bardelcik, Manjusri Misra, and Dr. Amar K. Mohanty.
My current research analyzes the microstructure of sustainable composites made from various combinations of recycled plastics and biomaterials. Specifically, my work aims to evaluate the mechanical properties and quantify damage within these composites to promote sustainable material use. By focusing on these innovative and sustainable composites, I strive to address the issue of plastic waste and contribute to sustainability within various industrial sectors. This project is essential for quantifying and understanding the mechanical properties of these new composites, offering valuable insights into their suitability for use within industry.
