BDDC Trainees Win Prizes at the University of Guelph's 21st Annual Project SOY

21st Annual Project SOY contest was held at the Government of Ontario building at One Stone Rd., where 14 projects were featured and 30 University of Guelph students from the main campus and Ridgetown campus participated in this contest. Three teams from BDDC won prizes in the graduate and undergraduate categories.

In the graduate category, Ehsan Behazin and Michael Snowdon won first prize for their project "InSoyLater" where they developed a flame-retardant insulator and Yin Li, Connor Davis, Baraka Gitari and Dylan Jubinville won third place for their project "SOJA Energy Harvester" where they developed a technology-charging system that harvests energy from soybean-based materials.

In the undergraduate category, Joyce Cheng, Michael Biancaniello, Ally Gowman and Peter Quosai were awarded second place for their project "SOYCube" where they developed a 3-D printed filament.
