Steve Orsini, Ontario Secretary of the Cabinet and Head of the Ontario Public Service Visits BDDC

The Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC) at the University of Guelph was delighted to host Steve Orsini, Ontario Secretary of the Cabinet, and Head of the Ontario Public Service on Friday November 25, 2016. Mr. Orsini was accompanied by University of Guelph President Dr. Franco Vaccarino and Vice-President of Research Dr. Malcom Campbell. Dr. Hamdy Khalil, Global Technical Director for Research and Product Development for The Woodbridge Group, as well as, Michael Toombs, Director of Research and Innovation at the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs visited BDDC.

The group was given an engaging presentation and tour of the BDDC facilities by BDDC director Prof. Amar Mohanty and Prof. Manju Misra of the University of Guelph, as well as BDDC staff and researchers. During the tour, new research in the field of bioproducts was demonstrated, with an emphasis on addressing climate change and renewable materials through innovation with bioplastics, biomass and green chemistry.
